Hi, I’m Tara
At Work
I’m an upbeat, experienced product designer and strategic leader with a passion for crafting intuitive, user-centered experiences. Over the past 15+ years, I’ve built deep expertise across visual design, product design, brand strategy, and leadership, partnering with teams across publishing, healthcare, start-ups, and fintech. I still can’t believe I’m paid to do what I love!
Most recently, I led a team of product and marketing designers at RetailMeNot, owning the end-to-end product experience across web, mobile apps, CRM, and browser extensions. I drove high-impact initiatives including the launch of the Cash Back Program, Instant Cash Back on gift cards, and Auto-Stacking—an innovation that allows users to combine offers for greater savings. I also led the creation of the company’s first global design system and brand refresh, dramatically improving design consistency and accelerating daily ideation and development.
As a design leader, I wear many hats—from mentoring and team building to crafting elegant, intuitive solutions—while keeping a strong focus on holistic, storytelling-driven design. I believe in deep collaboration, continuous learning, pushing creative boundaries, and building products that meaningfully improve people’s lives.
At Home:
I’m a proud Chicagoland native and Midwesterner at heart, as well as a twin mom to two very energetic and imaginative boys.
When I'm not chasing my boys or painting, you’ll likely find me diving into a good fantasy novel (Brandon Sanderson is my go-to), trying out a new game, hanging with family + friends or heading over to our local brewery for some pinball. I thrive on connection, good people and exciting projects.
